Join us for an inspiring student performance with Ballet Hispánico, where the power of dance transcends boundaries and celebrates the richness of Hispanic heritage. Founded in 1970 by the visionary Tina Ramirez, Ballet Hispánico has become the largest Latino cultural organization in the United States. Today, Ballet Hispánico is led by Eduardo Vilaro, an acclaimed choreographer and former member of the Company, whose vision of social equity, cultural identity, and quality arts education for all drives its programs. This dynamic performance will feature a series of captivating excerpts from Ballet Hispánico’s repertoire, each introduced by one of the company members who will share the history and inspiration behind the works. As the narrator guides the audience through the themes and cultural significance of each piece, students will have the opportunity to engage with the performance by learning foundational movements from their chairs. This interactive experience not only showcases the beauty and diversity of Latino dance but also encourages young dancers to explore their own potential and embrace the joy of movement. Come and be part of a celebration that honors the legacy and future of Hispanic dance.
“Everything about Ballet Hispánico is smashingly theatrical—from the stunning individuality and flamboyant, expressive style of its dancers to its use of sets, lighting, costumes and sound.”
